General David H. Petraeus *85 *87 h64 was awarded the 2010 James Madison Medal at an Alumni Day ceremony on February 20. The APGA honored him with a jam-packed reception in Procter Hall.  Read more by clicking here!

The APGA is proud to announce a new initiative in 2010 focusing on graduate student mentoring, to provide a new means for current students to connect and develop relationships with like-minded graduate alumni. To learn more, click here.

 

Dean William B. Russel traveled to Atlanta, GA on January 26 to have dinner with over 25 graduate alumni at the Blue Ridge Grill in the Buckhead section. Guests included members of the Princeton Club of Georgia (PCG) and offered an opportunity to reconnect with Princeton and fellow Atlanta graduate alumni.

APGA members were among over 150 participants in the Princeton Research Symposium held on Dec 5th, 2009. During this annual all-day event Princeton graduate students and research staff presented their work to the University community and the general public. This year's event, kicked off by Prof. Sam Wang, featured talks and poster presentations covering a wide range of topics from health care policy to imaging the interior of the sun and culminated in a keynote address on the computational design of materials for energy technologies by Prof. Emily Carter.  More information on can be found by clicking here.
 

Biologist Elaine Fuchs *77 wins the nation's highest scientific award. Fuchs, a Rockefeller University professor, has collected a long list of honors and honorary degrees. This year, she added the National Medal of Science.  As one of only 9 recipients, she was honored at a White House ceremony on October 7th, led by President Barack Obama. Click here for more.
